Senior Estimator Karl McCully specialises in estimating and tendering, helping Home Construction win the work that keeps its people in secure jobs.
A quantity surveyor with more than a decade of experience across New Zealand, Karl has built his career on multi-unit residential and commercial projects, from post-earthquake repair and rebuild estimating in Christchurch to cost planning and tender review at Kāinga Ora, where he supervised external QS consultants, mentored in-house surveyors, and worked across a portfolio of more than 300 projects.
He has developed the Excel-based tender templates and cost databases that streamline pricing, and brings the same systems-minded approach to Home Construction's tender submissions, using historical data to sharpen future project pricing. It's work he sees as directly helping New Zealanders into a warm, dry place to call home.
Karl holds a New Zealand Certificate in Quantity Surveying, has passed the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors' professional registration examinations, and has studied property development at Unitec.
