Mark Shearer
Back to peopleSenior Estimator & Quantity Surveyor
Mark Shearer leads procurement, tendering, and commercial strategy for Home Construction projects across New Zealand, work that determines a project's financial viability long before the first trade arrives on site.
With more than 10 years' experience across residential, commercial, retirement living, community housing, and large-scale urban redevelopment projects, Mark has led procurement and commercial strategy on a number of Kāinga Ora developments throughout Auckland, securing competitive market pricing and supporting the delivery of much-needed housing. His work spans procurement strategy and tender management through to negotiating trade packages, reviewing project costs, and supporting delivery teams as projects move from pre-construction into construction, across projects including Kāinga Ora social housing, retirement villages, residential subdivisions, and medium-density housing nationwide. Earlier in his career, he helped establish and mobilise Constructa's Auckland operations before progressing into senior commercial and procurement roles.
Mark is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS), and holds NZ Site Safe Site Management, Construction Law, and Mates in Construction training.
Outside of work, Mark spends time with his wife and children making the most of New Zealand's outdoors, and keeps a genuine interest in the construction industry, staying connected to trends, relationships, and changes across the sector.
