David Brown leads Home Construction's South Island delivery team, bringing over 25 years' experience across commercial, retail, hospitality manufacturing, residential, and fit-out project management to the role.
His background includes owning and running a commercial fit-out company for 16 years, where he built extensive relationships with architects, tradespeople, contractors, engineers, and councils. Previously, David has lead a team of 40 loss adjustors and administrative staff overseeing the assessment and repair of $400 million worth of earthquake-damaged properties in Christchurch. At Home Construction, he oversees cultural leadership, team management, training, health and safety, quality, financial management, and project reporting.
David holds an Advanced Trade Certificate, is a Licensed Building Practitioner (National), and holds a Certificate in Health & Safety and Site Safe Gold. What he enjoys most is supporting people and helping his team grow. He is also proud to have lead the delivery of High & White Street, a multi award-winning, 28-unit architecturally designed development.
Outside of work, David and his wife escape the Christchurch winter with an overseas trip each year, usually to Asia, and spend a couple of weeks over Christmas at Totaranui Beach in Abel Tasman National Park with their daughters and granddaughter. Always happiest working with his hands, he fills his weekends with family projects, including renovating caravans.
